The Rutgers Future Scholars

The future global leadership and economic growth of the United States, and the State of New Jersey, depend on well educated, self-sufficient, contributing citizens. Lifetime earnings and leadership roles depend greatly on the level of education. We urgently need to increase our high school and four-year college graduation rates. In order to do so, students and their families must receive information, academic support, and financial assistance to remain in high school and seek a college education.

The goal of the Rutgers Future Scholars program is to increase the numbers of academically ambitious high school graduates who come from low-income backgrounds, help them meet the standards to be admitted to colleges and universities, and then provide tuition funding to those who are admitted and choose to attend Rutgers University.
