The Volunteer Agreement applies to all RAVIN members and volunteers who represent the Rutgers University Office of Undergraduate Admissions.  This agreement is pursuant to university policy and the Rutgers University Alumni Association Code of Conduct.

As a community, we value and agree to:

• Strive to create satisfaction and enjoyment for yourself from your participation and involvement without promoting any self-interest, personal, professional or political gain.
• Honor and respect other volunteers; be fair by acknowledging and respecting their contributions, talents, and efforts.
• Contribute positively to the Rutgers University Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
• Read Rutgers publications regularly to remain familiar with requirements, current issues, and important changes at the university.
• Keep the interest of the Rutgers University Office of Undergraduate Admissions in mind when providing assistance.  Adhere to the Rutgers University policies and ask for clarification if you do not understand them.

Confidentiality

• Per the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), student educational records are considered confidential and may not be released without the written consent of the student.
• Data received from university systems, students, parents, or counselors, including contact information collected at college fairs, may not be used for any personal, political, religious, commercial, or other use.

Conduct at Events

• You are a direct reflection of Rutgers. Conduct yourself in an appropriate, professional, and friendly manner.
• Do not attempt to answer questions if you are uncertain of the answer.
• Honor and respect the interests, opinions and decisions of students, school counselors, parents, and other admissions representatives.
• Remain behind your college fair table and wait for students to approach.
• Focus on all the positive opportunities Rutgers can provide, and do not make comparisons to or speak negatively about other institutions.

Admissions Decisions

• Admissions decisions may only be made by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions after a thorough evaluation of an official university application.
• Financial assistance may only be determined by Rutgers' Office of Financial Aid and the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
• Avoid creating or conveying any impressions or expectations, positive or negative, about an applicant’s probability of admission or financial assistance.
  

• They have read and understand the RAVIN Volunteer Agreement.
• Volunteers are to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with university policies and the RAVIN Volunteer Agreement.  Failure to do so may result in dismissal from your role or other corrective action.
