The Academy at Rutgers for Girls in Engineering and Technology (TARGET) is a summer program designed for middle- and high school students to increase awareness about career opportunities in engineering.

Program Requirements


TARGET encompasses six different, one-week long, commuter programs, each for a group of 24. Eligibility for each of the six programs is determined by grade level. The program is held on Rutgers University-Busch Campus from 9:00am to 5:00pm each weekday of the designated week. When selecting a TARGET program please note that classes are determined by current grade level.

Transportation must be provided by the student’s family. Lunch and two snacks daily will be provided by Rutgers. The cost for the one week TARGET program is $425. Sponsorship is available on a need basis upon acceptance into the program.

Description


The Academy at Rutgers for Girls in Engineering and Technology (TARGET) is a summer program designed for middle- and high school students to increase awareness about career opportunities in engineering. Serving 24 students weekly, TARGET hosts six one-week commuter programs. Through a series of hands-on activities, team challenges, speakers, and mentorships, TARGET aims to familiarize students with different engineering disciplines and to destroy negative stereotypes concerning their ability to do well in math and science.
