Program Requirements

As this class is intended for those who plan to continue their musical studies in college, students should have at least an intermediate level of proficiency on their instrument, knowledge of note names in at least one clef and the ability to recognize whole, half, quarter, and eighth notes.

Description
|
Rutgers music theory faculty prepare students for collegiate placement examinations and for college-level theory and aural skills courses. This camp covers the foundational concepts of written music theory and ear training that are included in key signatures, time signatures, scales, intervals, harmony, solfege, sight-singing, and dictation.
- August 1-12, 2022 (weekdays only)
- Open to students ages 14-18
- Commuter only
- $650 – music theory AND ear training
- $350 – music theory (9:30-11:30 a.m.) ONLY or ear training (12-2 p.m.) ONLY
