WILL I PASS THE MASON GROSS MUSIC DEPARTMENT'S PLACEMENT EXAMINATIONS IN MUSIC THEORY AND EAR TRAINING IF I TAKE THIS CLASS?
There is no guarantee; however, you will certainly be much better prepared for the music theory and ear training placement examinations if you take this course.

IS THIS CURRICULUM UNIQUE TO MASON GROSS?  HOW DOES IT COMPARE TO REQUIREMENTS OF OTHER WELL-REGARDED MUSIC DEPARTMENTS?

All colleges and universities in the USA offering a Bachelor of Music degree have a core curriculum of music theory and aural skills. This class provides a solid foundation in both these areas. However, while there is general consistency in the content of all collegiate music theory programs, there is considerable variation in aural skills content between universities. The material covered and its presentation in this course may not be consistent with what and how the material is taught at other institutions.
